According to Government Statistics, 58% of women and 68% of men were overweight or obese in 2015.  20% of children in reception were in this category too rising to 33% in year 6.

A healthy diet and exercise should be implemented from a young age. There are numerous providers in Enfield that provide excellent programmes, and also make it fun too. Here are some ideas for the whole family:

Active Enfield organises a range of fun and engaging sport, dance and health activities all year round for Young People (ages 3 – 18), adults and Over 50s. Their sporting and physical activity courses are both affordable and accessible; delivered across in venues and spaces as diverse as schools, community centres, leisure centres and parks. It is likely the whole family can find something they enjoy.

 

 

Jump In

We are extremely lucky to have world class trampoline facilities including, Free Jump, Tumble Track, Foam Pit, Giant Air Bag, Twist Ladder and Basketball on our doorstep. The Enfield branch also offers fitness classes, toddler time (Weekdays from 10am – 12pm in term time) and teen nights.

Local Personal Trainer, Olivia is an Online Fitness Coach. She helps people get fit and healthy from the comfort of their own home – this is perfect for parents with busy lifestyles. Olivia also offers the meal plans, food portion control containers making it easy to track meals.

Can you exercise when you are pregnant? Of Course.

 

Sarah Wasser Personal Training specialises in, pre and post natal fitness. Classes include Bump Fit, Baby Fit and Active Fit. Rachel Young Yoga and Wellness teachers  pregnancy yoga but also offers dedicated beginners courses, open level groups, yoga for kids, semi private and 1:1 classes around Enfield. Fitmuma offers fun outdoor fitness sessions specially designed for mums. The classes are run by a fully trained and experienced personal trainer. There is no need to worry about childcare, as they can bring the baby with let them have fun with the other little ones. JTA Fitness also offer pregnancy  and post natal personal training and wellbeing too.

 

 

Classes for little ones

 

There are numerous classes in the local area that encourage movement and physical activity for children and even babies too. Tatty Bumpkin provide yoga classes for babies and children. Swimming is great for babies and water confidence. Turtle Tots North London offer classes in the local area. Pre schoolers can enjoy Multi Sports Classes with Super Stars Enfield during the week and pre-school football with Pro Elite Football Academy on the weekend. There are numerous dance, tennis, football and even cheerleading classes in Enfield too. ((Bounce)) also have sessions where parents can bring little ones too.
